Happy New Year!
Welcome fellow foodies to my little blog on my food adventures in London. I thought I would start 2018 by sharing my passion, FOOD! Being a student and living in such a big city has exposed me to the colourful food culture that is in London. Therefore my first post will be on something I love…. MATCHA!

Matcha for those who don't know, is finely ground powder of green tea leaves. Traditionally matcha was used to perform Japanese tea ceremonies but now it is a popular flavour of many desserts and drinks. Being Vietnamese and British, tea is always on my mind. Therefore matcha desserts became an instant love. London has also recently fallen in love with matcha as you can find more places serving matcha desserts compared to just a year ago. Let me show you my favourite matcha desserts on offer right now!

Tsujiri's matcha soft serve

Tsujiri
Tsujiri is a Japanese dessert chain in Soho offering a variety of matcha drinks and desserts. The chain also offers hojicha versions of all their desserts and drinks which is an added bonus. I personally prefer their matcha soft serve on its own however they offer sundaes and float drinks.

Location: 47 Rupert Street, Soho, London W1D 7PD

Kova's matcha mille crêpe

Kova
Kova is a cute Japanese patisserie in the heart of Soho, famous for their mille crêpe cakes. Their bestseller would be their matcha crêpe cake, and I can see why due to its creamy and sweetness. Another favourite of mine is their matcha yuzu mousse and their souffle cheesecake. If you can’t get enough of their cakes, Kova makes custom whole cakes to order.

Machiya's genmaicha mille crêpe (top) & matcha roll cake (bottom)

Oliver Maki's terrarium matcha tiramisu

Oliver Maki
Oliver Maki, located on Dean Street is a restaurant serving Japanese fusion food.
